Ski jumping grades

If a ski jumper received from the five judges, the highest grade point 20, because no points were deducted in the three categories to be evaluated flight, landing and exit, it is considered a perfect jump. So far in the history of ski-jumping, only five Springers have received this highest rating:

Ski jumping is a dangerous and technically highly demanding sport. Also, since the maintenance of the fortifications, and the cost of materials for the jumpers being quite expensive, there is worldwide, Ski jumping gradesonly a few thousand active ski jumpers. The classic ski jumping nations in addition to Norway are: Finland; Germany; Austria; Czech Republic and Slovenia. In Germany, the centers of the ski sport are the Bavarian Alps, the Black Forest, the Erzgebirge and Thuringia and the North Hessian Willingen, which has one of the biggest jumps in Germany.

Among the smaller nations of Europe are Switzerland, France, Italy, Poland and Slovakia. The Soviet Union added from the 1950s to the 1970s a number of very successful ski jumpers, but since the dissolution of the USSR successor states, this has been poorly maintained.

Since the triple victory on the normal hill at the Winter Olympic Games in 1972, Japan is also considered one of the major ski nations. Furthermore, in recent years, some ski jumpers from South Korea found their place among the advanced world leaders. Recently China also sought to build a team.

In the United States and Canada, there are some jumps that have been able to maintain American Springer rare in international competitions. An exception is the two Canadians Horst Bulau and Steve Collins, who were very successful in the early 1980s. Probably the only ski jump in the southern hemisphere is located in San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina.

Since 1964, two individual competitions have been held, one on the small hill and one on the hill. Until 1988, the design point of the hill was set at 70m, and on the large hill at 90m. Since 1992, the 90-meter ski jump, the normal hill and large hill has a design point of 120m. Since 1988, they have also organized team jumping. Until 1984 the Olympic Games were also the same as the world championships.
