Mountain Bikes

Mountain-Biking-Mountain biking is the sport that takes place on a mountain bike in mountainous terrain. By extension, the term applies to all other cross-country terrain such as different terrain: sand; dirt; mud; streams; obstacles holes; rocks; logs; branches and cliffs.

Cross Country

Usual mode of mountain biking. The bikes usually have only front suspension, but also they are beginning to use rear suspensions. This test consists of laps of a circuit at a length of usually between 8 and 11 miles.

Bike Marathon

Mode consisting of a voyage of between 65 and 100km, there are longer trials of 150 to 200km. It is usually the same type of bike used in cross country, though somewhat more robust, as reliability and convenience are vital for such long races. This approach has gained wide popularity in recent times, because competitions are usually open to both professionals and amateurs.

Cross-country course (Cross-Country)

All Mountain (All Mountain)
This mode (not competing) tries to provide aggressive drivers with wide bicycle paths (150mm to 160mm) of suspension, but keeps the bikes to a low weight and design that allows easy pedalling, especially on slopes. These bikes are designed for long recreational trips.

Saltos (Dirt Jump)
This type (competitive and recreational) is characterized by small bikes, lightweight yet durable, built to jump parks where the driver must be very experienced and agile. At the same, the riders are measured by leaps and twirls in earthen ramps.

Free Driving (Freeride)
This mode (recreational) is characterized by cycles with less emphasis on weight and is higher, without being so robust. These bikes allow cycling on the rise, but are not built for long runs.

Descent (Downhill)
Mode in which it competes on a hill, hopefully all downhill, with a variety of jumps (cut, double, plateaus). It is quite difficult, whether performed nationally and internationally, because the winner is the one that makes the journey in the shortest time of all participants.

Slalom (Slalom)
Descent-like mode, which is competing on a downhill track, with flags and skiing style doors.

Ascent (up hill)
Mode in which you compete against time and distance. The only path is uphill, and the winner is the one who does the shortest and longest distance on the climb.

Rural Bike: Manner in which it competes on dirt plains.
Types of bicycle
Rigid
No suspensions, tables have a rigid fork and the back of the box is solid, without suspension.

Front Suspension
Rigid frame, but no mechanism to replace the suspension fork with a solid suspension fork.

Suspension
Table mechanisms and rear suspension with front suspension fork.

The 29
With 29-inch wheel diameter.

Types of suspensions

Elastomers: A set of rubber rings on top of each other.
Springs: is a very simple system. The springs are located on the inside of the arms of the fork.
Hydraulic cartridge, comprising of the cartridge of oil, oil system.
Air cartridge: cartridge sealed and adjustable by a valve (located on the outside of the valve).

Driving technique

In terms of driving, the mountain biker should learn the following techniques:
Keep the bike stopped by at least 20 seconds, without moving.
Raise the front wheel without falling to the asphalt (wheelie) necessary to overcome obstacles such as streams, potholes, or upgrades to get traction.

Raising both wheels off the floor, (it is recommended to stop and lift off the ground with both hands). It is essential to maintain a high level of concentration in overcoming obstacles. Also have a proper physical readiness: continuous changes of rhythm produce a great state of fatigue. But that is offset by the diversion of activity, which reaches to engage all types of people regardless of age.
