Extreme skiing

Extreme skiing is skiing in extremely steep or rough terrain. An extreme skier rises usually up to the summit of a mountain and then leaves through deep snow fields and through ice grooves (lobbies). He Extreme skiinghas to overcome jumps over rocks, cornices, overhangs, and nearly vertical slopes and dodging boulders and vegetation. The extreme skier moves off marked and controlled in the alpine ski area.

There he can be buried by avalanches, fall on rocks, crash over insecure ledges or injure himself severely. Extreme skiers bear a sports helmet and protective gear. In this discipline, there are competitions in which the points awarded are given in accordance with the difficulty of the chosen route.
