Caving Logistics

The exploration of certain cavities requires significant logistics. The equipment of the cavity may require hundreds of meters of ropes and Caving Logisticsladders. It may be necessary to descend from the suctioning equipment (shovels, drills, transport tanks, hoes, buckets, crowbars etc).

It may be necessary to install underground camps (bivouacs) with equipment for sleeping, cooking, lighting, etc. Exploring siphons bottomhole also requires consistent portages. When the cavity is located in the mountains or more generally in remote areas, it must also provide all the equipment at the entrance of the cavity.

Accident and emergency Speleological
Accident

Caving, practiced in the rules is not a dangerous sport. Accidents happen and some are high profile. They sometimes require the commitment of substantial resources; they can be long and costly. The environment is hostile, the scene of the accident sometimes far out and difficult to access, the survival of the injured is put to the test. Hence the creation of specific structures such as ‘cave rescue’ nationals (see below). Accidents can be classified into several categories:

The cavers may get lost in the cavity. Short lighting, force, they can go out on their own and are forced to wait for rescue.
They may fall and break or sprain a member.
They can be hit by rocks on the head or a limb.
They may be surprised by a flood, suffering hypothermia, blocked by water and even drown if he finds no escape.
Finally, a caver can get caught in a squeeze (very rare).

Block Caving

Several countries have specialized structures in the rescue operations underground. The know-how developed over the years in particular covers the following activities: assistance and relief to victims: HOT; first aid; medicalization and medical assistance; life support, etc.

Technical evacuation of casualties in difficult conditions (horizontal and vertical contained in complex terrain); Management and organization of a rescue operation; cave diving; pumping; media: radio and telephone Underground System;
implementation of drilling and suctioning Bombings.
